-Esperanza was his first friend but they did not fall in love until adulthood.
-Jelani is very strong. He reportedly can pick up another Inkling using just his tentacles or his arms.
-Jelani often has issues in who he acknowledges as his mother. He knows that his biological mother is an Octoling but his adoptive mother is an Inkling, so he's often confused of who his mother actually is.
-Because of his confusion regarding who his mother is, he is often closer with his father than with his adoptive or biological mother even though his father is stricter towards him than he is towards his own kids.
